When my boss and I found out that we were supposed to be picking out the new servers and the new desktops for the entire office, we did not know where to begin. We knew that no matter what we chose, someone would complain. We thought that we would put it to a vote.

We sent out emails about which company everyone thought we should use and which brand we should buy. We got ten different companies names, and four different brands. The one that intrigued us the most was an online company that sold used sun desktops that had been refurbished. This would be a way to get the servers we needed.

It was just our luck that the same company that sold the used sun computers also sold used sun servers. We put out another email explaining that if we went with the used sun company, we could also get the new servers that the entire office knew we needed.

The vote was unanimous to purchase the used sun servers and the desktops. After we placed the order, it only took two days for everything we ordered to come in. We set the used sun desktops by everyone’s desk and let them install them themselves. The tech guys came and put in the new servers.
